Introduction
Chair of the OPEN Board
Louis W. (Jody) Fry is Regents Professor of Management at Texas A & M University-Central Texas and director of their MS Leadership for Sustainability Program. Jody has consulted with public and private organizations and published in numerous scholarly journals. The founder of the International Institute for Spiritual Leadership in 2002 and a commissioned spiritual director, he has primarily focused on organizational and personal transformation through spiritual leadership, which is about motivating and inspiring workers through a transcendent vision and a corporate culture based on altruistic values to produce a highly motivated, committed and productive workforce. Creating a sense of calling or purpose that one’s work has meaning and makes a difference and a sense of membership or belonging whereby one is understood and appreciated is central to spiritual leadership. In 2008, Jody extended his work on spiritual leadership to the field of sustainability, resulting in his book “Maximizing the Triple Bottom Line Through Spiritual Leadership” and recent publications “Cultivating a Global Mindset” and “Global Leadership for Sustainability.”
