Interests & Passions
Transforming how we build businesses globally, so that all businesses include all stakeholders and all capitals in governance and wealth share; so that all businesses are connected and one of the biggest causes of business failure and our sustainability issue: the fact that economics and business leaders falsely assume that business processes are ergodic; and building an investment fund that capitalises on this as its core thesis; All to demonstrate just how we can rebuild the economy to a net positive, regenerative one.
Author of Rebuild: the Economy, Leadership, and You. I apply the expertise gathered across three careers (particle physicist, manager with Procter and Gamble, serial startup founder) to Address our global challenges by building whole business ecosystem is, free of the inherent design flaws that have created the problems we face globally, and inherently regenerative. I do this in three interlocking arenas: incubating regenerative startups; starting a seed stage investment fund for ecosystems of regenerative startups; and consult to multi-nationals and start-ups on transforming to become regenerative. And I write books so that you can do it yourself.
Why am I an OPEN fellow?
We have precious little time to effect global systems change; the recent IPCC 3 report makes clear that we ought to have hit peak emissions before 2020, and that we need to reduce emissions by 43% before 2030. This can only happen if we rebuild business structures; rebuild how leaders decide, act, and interact; and rebuild business education. This needs to be done at a massive scale, far bigger and faster than traditional training programs can do. OPEN has potential to play a significant role in this rebuild.
How can I help change agents?
By helping them gain clarity on what is possible within the constraints of their entire context; and what they can do to broaden the space of possibility by incrementally changing the context.
